A Fun Overnighter in Laughlin

Laughlin, Nevada is a unique spot, down at the bottom corner of the state.  It's got gaming, entertainment, and lots of great outdoor fun, thanks to the Colorado River.  During the winter, the population swells thanks to those "snowbirds", and who can blame them?  Let's explore Laughlin!

A Great Day Up on the Mountain

This past summer, on the spur of the moment, Paula and I took a drive up Kyle Canyon Road to Mount Charleston.  It's a spectacular drive, and there are a number of places to stop on the way up - for food, for history, for spectacular views.  One of our favorite days all year!

A Milestone for LVIO: 35,000 Subscribers!

In April 2025, 6 years and 4 months after we started Las Vegas Inside & Out, we reached a milestone we've been working towards for a long time:  35,000 subscribers!  Don't know why this number has such significance for us, but it does - and we want to thank each and every one of you who pressed that "Subscribe" button since Day One, for helping us reach it!  THANK YOU ALL!


UPDATE:

As of January 2026, we have now topped 37,500 subs!  We LOVE our LVIO community!

El Cortez Adds a $20 Million Expansion

The venerable El Cortez, in the Fremont East District downtown, opened its doors back in 1941 and is still going strong!  In fact, it's the only active property in Las Vegas to be listed on the National Register of Historic Places.  Join us for a tour of their brand new casino expansion.

Flamingo - 79 Years Young

Can you even believe that the Las Vegas Strip has a resort this old - opened in 1946 - that hasn't yet been a victim of the wrecking ball?  The Flamingo is it, and this place just continues to keep itself fresh, relevant, and desirable, particularly for its great location and low room rates!

Resort Tours & "Staycations" on the Strip

We often book a stay at one of the resorts on the Las Vegas Strip, and take you along.  We'll do a room tour, pool tour, check out the casino, and always throw in a meal and a cocktail or two!

Attractions & Destinations

We feature all kinds of attractions and events happening on the Strip - things you won't want to miss when you come to town.  Among these are all the themes in the beautiful Conservatory at Bellagio, plus shows and unique attractions.

Foodie Adventures

Las Vegas is a world-class foodie destination, and we give plenty of airtime to the restaurants!  Paula loves to go out to breakfast, and we love to try out new dining venues as they open.  There's a huge playlist devoted to this topic - bring your appetite.

LVIO Out and About:

Downtown Las Vegas

We also have done a number of staycations on Fremont Street, and spent time in the excitement under the canopy.  Downtown is so vibrant and revitalized these days, and it deserves a look if you're planning a visit.

Living Like a Local

We are long-time locals, and we love living here!  We visit the resorts and casinos out in the Las Vegas Valley - the ones that cater more to locals, but are happy to welcome you as well.  So much to show you that is off the Strip!

Hitting the Road

Because we do this every week - where we go, you go!  If we have a trip planned, chances are we are taking our cameras along and vlogging it for next week's adventure.  We love the desert, the southwest, and we love featuring the beauty of it on our channel.
